Management

Dan Wilton
CEO and Director

Dan Wilton has more than 30 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance and principal investing in the mining sector, having executed as principal or advised on more than $10 billion of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and more than $1 billion of financings. Dan was previously a Partner at Pacific Road Capital Management, a mining-focused private equity investment firm with approximately $800 million under management. Prior to joining Pacific Road, Dan's previous roles included Managing Director and Head of the Global Mining and Metals Group at National Bank Financial Inc., Managing Director in Business Development at General Electric based in London, England, and other corporate finance and M&A roles at global financial institutions based in Toronto and New York. Dan is a Director of Providence Living, a residential care and assisted living provider based in Vancouver, BC, and serves on the Audit and Finance and Quality Committees. Dan served on the Board of Providence Health Care for 11 years, including acting as Vice Chair for 6 years and Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee during the financing and approval process for the New St. Paul's development. Dan holds a B.Comm (First Class Honours) from Queen's University and an MBA (with Distinction) from INSEAD in France.

Lisa Peterson
Chief Financial Officer (On leave of absense)

Lisa has over 15 years' experience within the mining, renewable energy, and professional services industries. Her most recent positions include serving as Chief Financial Officer of TSX-V listed mineral exploration Companies. Lisa previously held the role of Vice-President of Corporate Reporting & Global Accounting at SkyPower Global, a renewable energy developer and provider and Chief of Staff Capital Projects at Barrick Gold Corporation within their technical services, project development, and life of mine planning group. Prior to joining Barrick, Lisa spent 5 years working at KGHM leading their international Corporate Reporting group. Lisa started her career at KPMG LLP. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University.

Darren Prins
Interim Chief Financial Officer

Darren has extensive experience with capital markets, financial reporting, risk management, and the treasury function.  Darren has served as Chief Financial Officer for TSX Venture, TSX and NYSE listed companies, across multiple industries, with a focus on resource entities. As CFO, Darren has optimized financial reporting teams, oversaw several mergers & acquisitions transactions and led companies through their initial listing process. Earlier in his career, Darren worked at Ernst & Young, where he led various audit engagements.

Steve Lines
Vice President, Sustainability

Steve has over 20 years of professional practice in environmental assessment, permitting, Indigenous and community affairs on major mining projects. Prior to joining First Mining Gold Steve led the Hardrock Gold Project Environment Assessment for Greenstone Gold Mines successfully obtaining approvals and permits from the federal and provincial governments and working in partnership with Indigenous communities to implement benefit agreements. Steve has also worked for De Beers where he held progressively responsible positions in developing and implementing strategies for the approval of the Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine. Steve has worked with Fortune Minerals Limited to obtain approvals for the NICO Project, as well as on behalf of Lupin Mines Incorporated to obtain key permits for its assets in Nunavut, Canada. Steve has a strong understanding of permitting processes and consultation requirements for mining projects having held positions as a regulator for environmental assessments and water management licensing. Steve completed both an undergraduate degree in Ecology and post-graduate diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment at Concordia University, and completed an M.Sc. in Environmental Impact Assessment at the University of Calgary.

James Maxwell
Vice President, Exploration and Project Operations

James is a professional geoscientist with over 20 years of industry experience with a focus on exploration and development of orogenic gold discoveries, and has been part of discovery teams responsible for five major gold discoveries in Nunavut and Red Lake, Ontario. James was previously with Sabina Gold & Silver Corp. as Director of Exploration where he helped establish a 6.0 million-ounce gold resource base from discovery to the feasibility study level. Prior to working in Nunavut, James established an early career in the Birch-Uchi and Red Lake Greenstone belts where his team earned a Northwestern Ontario Prospectors Association Discovery of the Year Award for the Rahill-Bonanza discovery. He is a long-standing member of the PDAC Health & Safety Committee and was a recent speaker for the 2019 Newgen Gold Conference held in Perth, Australia. James holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba with a focus on geological sciences and is registered with the Professional Geoscientists Ontario (“PGO”) and the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (“NAPEG”).

Richard Huang
Vice President, Corporate Development and Corporate Secretary

Richard Huang brings over 15 years of corporate finance, M&A and capital markets experience in the mining and resource sector, and has extensive experience providing strategic advice to large, mid and small cap mining clients on executing M&A and capital raising transactions.  His previous experience includes mining sector coverage in the investment banking group at National Bank and equity capital markets group at Scotiabank.  He has also held additional roles with other boutique Canadian and US based investment banks.  Richard holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Distinction) from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto.

Keith Neumeyer
Chairman

Mr. Neumeyer has worked in the investment community since 1984. He began his career at a number of Canadian national brokerage firms. Mr. Neumeyer moved on to work with several publicly traded companies in the resource and high technology sectors. His roles have included senior management positions and directorships responsible in areas of finance, business development, strategic planning and corporate restructuring. Mr. Keith Neumeyer who has an unparalleled track record which includes creating two world-class mining companies: First Quantum Minerals Ltd. which has now grown into one of the world's largest copper producers, and First Majestic Silver Corp. which is one of the largest silver producers in the world. Mr. Neumeyer has also listed a number of companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange and as such has extensive experience dealing with the financial, regulatory, legal and accounting issues that are relevant in the investment community.

Raymond Polman
Director

Mr. Polman has more than 30 years of public accounting and corporate finance experience in the Canadian and US financial markets and was most recently Chief Financial Officer of First Majestic Silver Corp. from 2007 until his retirement in 2022. Prior to First Majestic, Mr. Polman had been a Chief Financial Officer for six years with a number of publicly traded high technology companies, prior to which he served several years as the Director of Finance for Rescan Environmental, a large privately owned company serving the global mining community. Mr. Polman has a Bachelor of Science (Economics) Degree from the University of Victoria and he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Mr. Polman also brings eight years of prior public accounting experience with Deloitte, LLP.

Richard Lock
Director

Richard Lock is a veteran mining executive with more than 30 years of experience in project management, development and operations for major mining companies including Rio Tinto, Western Potash, DeBeers and Anglo American. Richard is currently CEO and Director of Oroco Resources Corp. and was previously Senior Vice President and Project Director for the NorthMet mining project in Minnesota being developed by PolyMet Mining Corp. His prior experience includes Construction Director for KAZ Minerals’ Peschanka open pit copper mine in Russia and executive and project director roles at Arizona Mining’s Hermosa Zinc Project in the U.S. (acquired by South32 Limited in 2018 for $2.1 billion). He has been involved with numerous projects including Yara International’s Dallol potash project in Ethiopia, Western Potash’s Milestone potash project in Canada, and several of Rio Tinto’s projects including the Resolution and Keystone copper assets in the U.S. and the Diavik diamond mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories. Mr. Lock holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Cardiff University in the U.K.

Director

Leanne is a Partner in Flowing River Capital, a Indigenous private equity fund manager that invests in high-potential operating companies advancing Indigenous economic prosperity and Reconciliation across the country and the Founder of SevGen Consulting. She was previously CEO of Creative Fire and was the National Leader of the Deloitte Indigenous practice, serving over 275 Indigenous communities across Canada. Her experience in business leadership and her ability to build relationships between corporate partners and Indigenous businesses were integral to growth for Deloitte and its clients. Leanne has served as a director for the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business and is a member of the Board of Governors for Wilfrid Laurier University and is a WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada Award Winner.
